Would it really make any difference? Weemin's fitba is crap - and our weemin are beyond crap!

Over hyped nonsense the lot of it.

I know I'll be slated, but if truth be told, most football fans couldn't give a fiddlers about weemins football.
I've been to 7 or 8 NI Womens internationals and tbh, often I've enjoyed them as much - if not more - than some of the Mens internationals I've suffered down the years - remember Sammy McIlroy's time in charge?

The point being that the two games are different, with each having its own attractions. Which is why comparing Womens' football directly with the Mens' game and expecting the same is pretty pointless (imo).

The women's team took a big crowd to Wembly. There have been decent crowds at quite a few of the games. It's hardly the peak of the game, but it's a work in progress.

Our Wee Ladies / Re: UEFA Womens U19 2025 Finals Qualifiers
« Last post by EalingGreen on November 21, 2025, 10:28:14 pm »
Azerbaijan comfortably dispatched 4-0 out in Albania this afternoon.
Won their second match today 3-0 against Montenegro.
5--0 win today against Albania.
The above games date from February, when they won their Group to get promotion from League B to League A.

Meaning that later this month they will be up against Italy (hosts), Switzerland and Belarus in Group A6 in the first round of the qualifiers for WU19 Euro 2026.

It then gets a bit convoluted about how you get to the 2026 Finals next summer etc, but suffice to say, it will be odds-against for our girls:

I'll be glad to see the back of her. I'm sure there are a few players that will be glad of it too.

By all accounts Tanya and her back room staff are not exactly cheap. The IFA may see the ‘poor results’ and Newcastle approach as a perfect storm.
