His grandfather is Charlie Ferry (born in Donegal), a bit of LOI legend from his time at Derry City, Finn Harps and Sligo Rovers, so he has pedigree. I think Devlin himself is from Derry, and like most of the current crop from there, he'll try his hand with us and the ROI at schoolboy level (Aron KC of Derry is another - think his unusual surname is Nepalese).

Seems to have played for rain according to this.

OD's Coleraine FC profile says he signed full professional forms for them on 6th September as a 17 y.o. this year, having "joined the Bannsiders in the summer from Derry City":
https://colerainefc.com/devlin-turns-pro/

And he previously played for ROI U-15's as far back as November 2022, when he was 14.
https://www.fai.ie/latest/mu15-squad-named-for-poland-friendlies/
He featured in both games of that double header in Poland (as did Glenn McCourt btw), even though that Transfermarkt page has him as only having one ROI cap. A search of the FAI site doesn't bring up any further references to him.

Anyhow, unless he's a Donegal lad who was at Derry City, as many often do, U-15 caps have no bearing on his international eligibility, meaning that if eg he were to represent NI at a recognised level (i.e. U-17, U-19 or U-21), he would still have a permitted switch to ROI and v.v.

Great to see, never heard of the lad until yesterday but saw a wee clip of some skills and looked very good.

Young lad plays for Coleraine and seems quite a talent, is he in any NI underage squads?

Looks like a decent enough draw - probably should finish 2nd behind Switzerland

Senior Team / 2027 World Cup Qualifying Draw (Grp B - Switz/Turkey/Malta)
« Last post by EalingGreen on November 04, 2025, 03:28:06 pm »
Northern Ireland (FIFA Ranking 44) have been placed in Group B2 with Switzerland (ranked 24), Turkey (ranked 58) and Malta (ranked 88) ...         ... [while qualifying] for the World Cup, which will be held in Brazil, follows the same format as the Nations League and is split into three tiers.

Only the four group winners in League A will automatically qualify for the finals, with the remaining teams having to go through the play-offs for the remaining eight places.

The qualifiers will be played across six matchdays, on a home and away basis, during 2026, starting on 3 March and finishing on 9 June.

Uefa has been allocated 11 places for the 32-team 2027 World Cup.

An additional European team could also qualify through Fifa's intercontinental play-offs.

What is the play-off route for League B?

If Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are to earn a play-off they must avoid finishing bottom of their respective groups.

Not only would they be relegated to League C they would also miss out on a play-off.

On the other hand, if they were to win their respective groups, they would not only earn promotion to League A but their first-round play-off would be against a side who finished second or third in League B.

Likewise, if Scotland, Wales or NI were to finish second or third in their group they would face a side who finished in fourth place in League A or a League B group winner.

The second round of the play-offs are seeded, and if they progress they would likely face League A opposition.

So, in short, if Wales, Scotland or NI are to reach the World Cup they will likely have to defeat two strong nations along the way.
